Post Full Circle on the Remstar Auto M
Me again,  I think I joined this forum with a question about the tiny double (white and sponge) filters on this machine.  After four months  steady use, mine is still showing an absolutely pure, as the driven snow, clean filter.
I wonder where the dust is going? because I do believe, that we, like most folks have a bit of dust around:O).
I went in to see my registered tech  today, She is a fully qualified nurse and I like her , but,  she said not to worry about it as this new technology allows them to run a year without a filter change. She said if I was worried about it to call Respironics.
My old Remstar choice, noisy as it was, had a large oval filter and it used to get dirty enough to change every couple of months.  At the beginning I tried an experiment of wrapping the case with seran wrap so that all of the air woould have to go through the filter port.
It does "breathe" through the case , as I suspected. I abandoned this trial as I felt that the blower may overheat.

I think Chrohnie 2 and Mrs Rip had a comment when I first asked about this.  I am sorry, I forget what was said . :O)

Again, I ask is there a Tech Rep from Respironics looking in? with an answer.

The last time I called Resmed about my Full Face mask they said they couldn't tell me anything because I was using a Respironics machine :O)

I don't want this to be about "me" again , however I am doing fine and the API incidents are down to an almost steady average of 4 :O) I would like to see a steady average of 0 but I know if that happens I may be "gone" for good :O)
 Thanks for looking John

I called Respironics today and they said as long as it was blowing air it was OK????
I rest my case:O) The case "breathes" and we don't get all of our air filtered?? Try covering the filter area and the machine still blows full volume. I wonder what is being embedded in our  lungs?  Oh well :O)
Thanks
John
