Hi all,
I've not visited the forum in so long, I was surprised to see this thread still going strong! We have had so much rain and cool weather, we didn't take our usual Spring ride to Eureka Springs , Ark. We did go but drove the car which wasn't fun at all because we go to ride the bike and enjoy the beautiful Ozark air. It's still stormy here in the mid-west which makes it hard to plan a trip. We don't mind a little rain but strong wind and tornados are not our idea of a good time. We've done a few day trips on the Wing, but we are definately itching to take a trip. Is anyone going to Wing Ding in July?
ride safe ya'll

You didn't think I would let this thread die did you? Kinda hard during the winter to get up some topics for it but we've managed to make it through. Same here in Oregon is the spring is really cool and wet most of the time. It has been a little drier this week but still cool. We are use to seeing 70 degree weather at this time and it is barely making it into the high 50's. Big difference.
Would love to go to Wing Ding. However I got laid off of my job. While I found work right away I don't have enough vacation time to make the trip. What little time I have will need to be used to help with our Chapters Oyster Feed in Septemeber.

Hmmmmm.. an oyster feed? Sounds interesting!
We haven't gotten involved in a chapter yet but have been thinking about trying to find our local one. We do enjoy riding alone but sometimes think it would be fun to have friends who ride too. I'm sorry to hear about your job but glad you found work easily. Not so with many folks these days. Our weather went from chilly/rainy to just hot. It's 95 today. I'm more apt to want to ride cooler then hotter. It just sems like we find less time to ride these days and we thought age would slow us down to just the opposite. I'm itching for a nice ride and some away time. Who knows? Maybe a stranger will show up at your oyster feed... lol!!

The oyster feed is three days out at Long Beach WA. This is our big fund raiser to make donations back into our local community. If you can make it, it will be well worth the time to come up. In September we get the last really nice weather and out on the coast it is really nice and comfortable. If you and your husband camp this ride is held at a camp ground site that is very nice. If you prefer hotels there are several very nice hotels in Long Beach WA to stay at. Go to the GWRRA, an non-profit educational organization, WEB site and look up Region I, Chapter P in Washington state. Follow the links to our WEB site and you will find our information on the Oyster Feed.
Even if you join a local chapter of GWRRA you can always go out for rides on your own. I have friend who rides HD and would probably never join a club or group. So every few days we go for rides when we can. Our favorites is getting together for dinner rides during the week. Of course the wife and me slip off for a few rides together when time permits. Make sure what ever chapter you join is active and look at bringing in younger members. We have started recruiting younger members so our will continue. Course its hard to find younger members that want to ride Goldwings but we are doing our best on this.

 Honda Shadow Aero
I'm an Aero rider, logging 100 miles each day to and from work. Looking for a used Gold Wing now...my butt (nor my wifes) can handle the Shadow too long on longer trips!

You and your wife will love a Goldwing. Really made for two up riding. My wife loves to ride with me when we can. When you get your wing let me know. Nothing like them. They are just really comfortable and fun to ride. They handle alot better than most people realize.

 Fall Already
Well not yet. We are having a very cool Labor Day. Had some showers yesterday. Would like to have been off on a ride some where but the weather is not co-operating. Any one else get out for a Labor Day get away?

I went and did it again...
My wife couldn't get used to the coupe style of that last sidecar.
She loves this one. In fact, we have been on the road so much I haven't logged in here since June!

Don't feel bad SideCarMike. I think a lot of us have been out riding this summer. We actually had a decent summer up here in NW Oregon. It is finally coming to an end and fall weather has moved in. Glad to hear you were able to get on the road and have fun. Go any where special?

Nope, just a lot of "Let's go for a ride", trips. I only went to two rallys this year.
We've put on about 7,000 miles without getting more than 250 miles from home.
Today it's 40 degrees and raining, but I managed to squeeze in a 90 mile round trip to my son's place to pick up a little cargo trailer and am still home in time for the Packer game.

Our riging season in Oregon is coming to an end. Sniff, Sniff, at least this year we had one. Hopefully we will have a great riding season next year. Any one got any riding planned for the winter time in the southern states where it is still warm.
