Hi all,
My daughter is 7 years old. I have not taken her to the pediatrician yet, but I suspect she may have OSA.
I suspect OSA because she used to snore very loudly as a toddler. And I was told that she had large adenoids when she was younger.
At the time, the pediatrician said she would probably "grow into them." When I mentioned the snoring they told me to pay attention if she stopped breathing.
I have not noticed her stopping breathing, but I am not there most of the time. Her twin sister says she does snore still.
The snoring is not as loud now, but she complains about being tired and is still wetting the bed at night.
Anyway, long story short, here's the reason for my question. She had 2 cavities at the dentist.
They recommended Nitrous Oxide/laughing gas when doing the fillings to make it easier on her. They are at the
very back of her mouth.
If I suspect OSA, could this be dangerous?? My understanding is that she would not go to sleep, just be in
a relaxed state.
Thanks so much for any insights!!
