Post Air pressure question
I have just obtained the nasal pillows-type mask because my old mask was leaving a red mark on the bridge of my nose. (it did not seem too tight, yet band aids and/or other padding did not seem to help).  When I tried the nasal pillows last night, it seemed as if too much air was being forced into me and I could not tolerate that much airflow.  I had very little difficulty adjusting to my first mask, however.  My question is, does the machine air flow setting need modified (re-calibrated?) depending on the type of mask being used?  Unfortunately my sleep doctor left his practice and it will be some time until I can meet with another.  Thanks.

Hi,

Short answer is NO.

I asked this same question at the ResMed stand shortly after they launched the swift nasal pillows. Apparantly your cpap machine makes allowances for leaks etc.

Daniel.

If you have a ramp feature on your machine, try using that if you don't already. Also, if you have a exhale pressure relief, try setting that higher.
