Quattro is any day better than the Liberty. The nasal cushions seldom stay in place especially under high pressure. Liberty is just a bad copy of the Hybrid that is not available in Australia.
The hybrid is a better design but for the chin support that causes more problems. I have heard a few people have cut the chin support off.
Not long before you get to try Rambo's dream mask.
Should I call it Dream or Freedom ?
i much prefer the Liberty..although i have had my problems...unfortunately my DME will not order me the Hybrid so i am stuck with the Liberty..I just did not like the bruise on the bridge of my nose that the Quattro gave me..plus it was claustrophobic for me as well..
interested to see what the dream mask is that you talk of..can you give any details about the design yet??

I use the headgear from my Hybrid, when using the headgear that comes with the Quattro it is hard to to seal but not with the Hybrid headgear.
Now that is interesting using a hybrid head gear with the quattro. How clever.
Pity I cannot buy the hybrid or its head gear in Sydney Respcare do not ahve any outlets in australia probably because Sydney is Resmed Turf

Can you get a FlexiFit HC432 Full Face Mask the headgear is almost identical. Or the headgear by itself?
The straps on the Hybrid are not as wide as the Quattro but it will work, they sometimes slip out the top mask slots. A small price to pay for a sealed mask.

My Quattro is leaking also. What FF is comfortable and does not leak? I think it good to have a full face just in case you have a bad cold but would also like to give the nasal pillow a try. The new Swift LT looks interesting??

The F&P Flexifit 431 is softer and more comfortable for me than the Quattro

I am having problems with the Quattro as well. The past few nights I have been awakened by the hose breaking away from the Quattro at the elbow joint. This sends my APAP into alarm mode and wakes my husband and others. I do not know why this is happening, but I expect that the elbow joint does not fit tight enough. It just pops off.
I am also having nose bridge issues. Yesterday, the sores on my nose were bleeding when I woke up. I also have sores on my forehead from the forehead support.
The past few nights I have been waking up very predictably at 12:30 a.m., which is about 2 hours after I am falling asleep. I have be waking up throughout the night every few hours.
Unlike before, I'm not feeling restful in the morning. I feel like I have been battling through my sleep with my Quattro. I would like to change masks but the my ResMed VPAP Adapt SV only permits the use of about 4 masks: the Quattro, the Mirage FF, the Activa, and the Vista. Any suggestions ?
Thanks,

Check to see if the connector thingy is still on the end of the hose. We're spacey sometimes, stuff happens. If its still there, then jerry rig it on somehow. Duct tape maybe? Probably not if you want to wash the hose . Some plumbers tape wrapped around the elbow part will probably keep the hose on. It worked for me until I my DME guy told me I was missing my connector, and got a new one. Virginia

Maybe I explained it wrong. It is the clear piece which goes into the mask which keeps breaking away, not the hose. It all falls away as one piece. It's very frustrating. I guess I could add tape for extra holding power, but a mask should not be designed with this type of flaw.

Find the resmed website and get their email address. Maybe someone here will be able to post it. I have it somewhere, but I forget where at the moment. Let them know the problem, they will probably send you a new elbow joint, maybe tell you how to replace the mask. Virginia

Thanks,
I share some of your problems but not all.
The mark on the fore head can be eliminated by wearing tennis head band made of turkey towel material. There is no need to tie this very tight at the fore head.
Hose coming away at the elbow: This suggests that you are connecting the flexible hose end directly to the mask. Obviously some one for got to give you a plastic joint that goes on to the mask at one end and to the hose at the other. This plastic joint piece clicks on the mask and the hose end slides on to this piece..
Sores on nose bridge is an issue if the mask is not the right size for you or if you are not adjusting the swivel that changes the inclination of the mask to suit. Tie the fore head strap first. Lift the mask away from your face and place the cushion down on the nose and then slowly slide it up and then bring the mouth section on to the face and fasten the belts.
Start with the mouth straps loosely tied and then tighten them gently bit by bit until there is no hissing noise which suggests that air is leaking between the face skin and the mask some where.
My problem is that the quattro leaves an ugly mark on my fore head ( hence head band) and the frame does not suit the curve on my face so it either leaks at the nose bridge or down below the lips. Tightening this mask too tight also makes it leak more as the cushion fails to seal as it gets twisted a bit too much out of shape..
Why dont you to to Resmed web site and complain bitterly saying your treatment is failing because of a lousy Quattro...
I sometimes wonder how so many badly designed masks have got FDA approval ?

Thank you for the suggestions, Ram-
I am using the connection piece (gray) from the elbow joint to the hose end. I think the problem is being caused by the weight of my insulated hose cover. I have taken it off and I'm going to try it again tonight. I will get a sweat band and try that. That's a good idea.

If you are using the connection piece the hose should not come off. It took me a lot of effort to take it off this morning to check it before I responded to you. Please check to see if the quattro swivel is broken where the connection piece fits as this bit is quite fragile
