Post Does regular exercise improve sleep apnea?
Curious to know if regular exercise affects sleep apnea.  Have been walking/running regularly up until a month ago.  Had a very bad cold & with the holidays, I've gotten out of my routine.  Haven't done anything in over a month.  My partner of three months is telling me that in the last 3 weeks, I stop breathing for 30 sec at a time then wake up gasping for air; then I start snoring and repeat the process over & over again throughout the night. The snoring is getting louder & louder.  Seems to only happen when I sleep flat on my back.  The first two months we were together, I didn't snore at all.  Haven't been to my doctor yet. I have also noticed that I am very tired & have a hard time staying awake throughout the day.  I'm hoping that getting back to exercising will correct the situation.

Hi,

If you do have OSA, exercise will not cure it.

Exercise will help your overall health and will prove good for you. Anything that improves general health is good, but won't cure OSA.

You should see a sleep doctor.

Daniel.
