Which CPAP machine will give me the best data to follow my CPAP usage so I'll be able to track that on my computer?

Yep I'm in search of that also,  since my five or six years is up to where I can buy another.  I want one with the best data also that I can watch on my computer also.  The one I have now offers nothing at all.

The Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR, Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage, the newer Resmed S8 II Elite, the Resmed S8 II AutoSet Vantage or Spirit. In other words the Resmeds handsdown for easy access to a good deal of data via the LED screen. (NOT the Resmed S8 Compact or Resmed S8 Escape). Cable reader needed to use the software.

Another goodie, in autoPAP only, is the Puritan Bennet GoodKnight 420E (the E is the key). No info via the LED screen but excellent, easy to obtain software. However, the 420E has to be taken to the 'puter, no data card.

The Respironics M Series Pro, Respironics M Series Auto w/C-Flex and Respironics M Series Auto w/A-Flex all provide data via the LED screen and Respironics offers a patient version of their professional software. Specific cable reader also needed. LED data access not a simple as w/the Resmeds.

Most insurances do NOT pay for software and cable reader. Local DME suppliers often will not sell the software and cable reader or will only do so w/a doctor's script. Online DME suppliers do NOT require a script for you to purchase the software and cable reader. Prices can be steep so be sure to shop if buying online. Respironics and Resmed have recently instituted MAPs (minimum advertised pricing) so be sure to ask any online DME supplier about any "unadvertised specials" or "unadvertised sales" for Resmed and Respironics equipment and/or software and cable reader.

I have a Respironics auto M with C-Flex that I use for titrating myself.  It is a very nice CPAP; however it is noisy.  On those nights that I use it, my partner is constantly complaining about the noise.

My everyday CPAP is an IntelliPAP, which is a very nice machine and is nearly dead quiet; unfortunately it doesn't provide data.  There is an auto version of the IntelliPAP which would also be very quiet, unfortunately I haven't been able to find software for it, and I do not know what sort of data it will provide on the display.

The company's website "promises" software by summer for the DeVilBiss IntelliPAP Auto - but what little it says about the "promised" software's expected data doesn't sound promising beyond compatability. I've been watching for further information about this little jewel myself.

The Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR

Thats the machine I have.  It is small, quiet, the humidifier is integrated (not a separate box) and the data is very helpful.  It is however expensive for the software and reader no matter what machine you get.  Still worth it in my opinion.

BTW Crohnie, you can't get an S8 Elite without EPR!  Laughing

Yeah, I know, but I've been brainwashed by my cpaptalk.com friends and their Respironics autos and their precious C-Flex and new A-Flex so its habit to add the ERP to my Elite when I mention it.
