It varies from sleep lab to sleep lab. HOWEVER, if you are fortunate to be scheduled w/an appointment w/the doctor BEFORE your equipment is ordered BE PREPARED, have an idea of a couple different brands and models CPAP you would like to have so you and your sleep doctor can come to a MUTUAL agreement on which CPAP you are provided with.
I strongly recommend that you NOT accept anything less than a fully data capable CPAP - meaning a Resmed S8 Elite or Respironics M Series Pro. You will most likely regret it if you accept anything less.
If your sleep doc recommends an autoPAP so much the better!!!! They would be the Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage, Respironics M Series Auto w/A-Flex, Respironics M Series Auto w/C-Flex or Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420E.
Pay close attention to the names!!! These darn manufacturers use similar names for different models: for instance the Resmed S8 Escape is NOT fully data capable, nor is the Respironics M Series Plus nor is the Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420G.
