She gets them all the time. They are not severe. As a matter of fact, they are so mild that I wonder if it is a symptom of something else if you KWIM. I know we live in the desert, that seriously contributes, but I still wonder??? She wakes up EVERY morning with dried up crusty bloody boogies. When we wipe her nose and get a long, slimy one, there is a bloody string within. Then this afternoon, she was throwing the hugest fit in the world in the car and I turn around and she has blood smeared around her nose. I am wondering if it could be another sign of apnea???? I mean i know that she is a mouth breather for the most part, especially at night, but her nostrils always flare at night and when she is exercising (walking or PT). What do ya'll think? Any experiences? Suggestions? Thoughts? THANKS!!!!
Also, we have our sleep study scheduled for the end of May. I hope that she sleeps. I wish they could do it at home, but I can't find a company that will. We are having the most difficult time with her insurance. Always have and it only gets worse every year. Her pedi office has been trying to get her on an apnea monitor, but we are running into some major dead ends. A lot of the companies that we are trying to go through no longer supply apnea monitors because they are too expensive. Particularly with the follow up care. I even called the Smart Monitor company and they said that they can't rent one out to me and that they only go through institutions. All I need is something that will alarm me if she stops breathing for Christ sake!!!! I spent a lot of time calling people up about them and I keep getting the same answers. I don't understand it??? I'm going to PAY for it!!!!
I called Apria and they will sell me a pulse oximeter, but they don't have the ones that alarm, well that won't do me any good.
