Do hybrid masks require a different pressure setting than standard nasal pillows?  I was very happy with my new hybrid the first night of use but my wife tells me that I am snoring again.  What's going on  

Background facts:
* Been successfully using ResMed nasal pillows for over a year but had to tape my mouth completely shut to stop blow-by. (A bit scary!)
* Have pretty mild apnea.  Only require a setting of 6 cm H2O.
* As far as I know my Hybrid is not leaking.  At any rate I don't hear any leaking noise.
* Not likely to get any help from my doctor.  I had to order my Hybrid on-line because he wouldn't sell me one.

Please forgive the repost but I fear my first one was buried in the hybrid mask sticky and was being ignored.

If you have an auto titrating machine, use that.  I noticed my hybrid made my apnea numbers go up so maybe you do need more pressure with them. Hummmmmm I didn't like it so it is now sitting unused in my cupboard.

Have your wife check carefully next time and see if it is you or your mask "snoring".  You won't hear the leaking because it probably occurs as you relax and go to sleep. Most people can't snore with their mouth closed, which the hybrid should do with the chin support.  Some mask make a terrible snoring or fluttering noise when they leak and it shows up as snoring in the machine data if you are able to read that, as does the leak data.

No, it's me that is snoring.  I have waken myself up a couple times and feel that "fluttering" in the back of my throat.  
Pretty much given up.  Think I wasted $150...   Anybody interested in spare parts for their Hybrid? .  Send me a private message.

I was titrated in the sleep lab at 7 cc using a Mirage Swift II but could not duplicate the sleep lab performance with my setup at home.  I found, through use of an auto pap and then setting the machine up a cc at at time, that it takes 10.5 cc to reduce my AHI<4.  Your doctor should have the DME set your machine to a higher level to stop the snoring.  Guess I had a good day at the sleep lab and a bad day every since.  Good Luck.
