had my first sleep study

Post had my first sleep study 
well i had my first sleep study the other day.  was hard to fall asleep with all the stuff hooked up but i was able to.  they said i def. have sleep apnea. dont know any numbers yet but i am going back this thursday to have another sleep study but this time with the cpap machine.

welcome, I myself am a newbie here and you will find tons of information and helpfull people. I know exactly what your talking about with all them wires hooked up, now the next step is doing it all again plus the mask. Well good luck and hopefully you can start sleeping healthy......

yea i go on thursday to do it ahain with the mask on.  hopefully being a firefighter i will be fine cause im used to wearing masks for a long period of time. but im shure its totaly differant. guess ill find out tomorow!!

In the meantime, call the lab and get a copy of your first study.  You can then be more informed when asking questions the 2nd time around.

Good luck with your titration!  I will bet you take to it easily after all your mask experience.

i had my 2nd sleep test last week and this week i get my cpap but i dont know how much air i need the doctor never told me

How is it going? Any updates?

I spent many years on all sorts of masks, from firefighting, scuba, flight oxygen mask and I think it all helped when it came time to CPAP.  I still have issues with the hose but my doctor said I am doing great.

I am going to try a hybrid mask due to opening my mouth while sleeping, but other then that I am amazed to be dreaming again and the energy level during the day is improving. It has only been a little over a month.
