I know this is off topic but does anyone know if there is a forum like this for victims and caregivers of people with Parkinson's disease?  I would like to be involved with a forum like that.

My mother died from a very long, terrible battle from this disease, suffering in bed two whole years before passing.  I hope there is a forum out there in which I can talk to someone who has been through the same experience.

I have to say that my mother never did anything wrong, she was perfect in everything she did and I do not understand why she had to suffer this kind of death.

Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.  I have never been able to accept the fact that life isn't fair.  There is so much that happens that I can never understand.  My dad, who also was a great person, suffered an unrelated but still horrific death.

Google for support groups and even check the manufacturer's site of a couple of highly prescribed anti-Parkinson's drugs, Mirapex and Requip (which you are probably well familiar with either from your mom or the fact that you run a sleep lab and they are RLS/PLMD drugs as well) for support group links.

Additionally, this book was of great help to me when my father died:
"When Bad Things Happen to Good People" by Harold S. Kushner.  The author is a rabbi whose young son died from a degenerative disease and he has written several well read books.

I hope that you may eventually find peace.

Vicki

Dear RPSGT, I am so very sorry to read of your mom's death and the circumstances of her last two years. Please do try to dwell on the good times you and she and the family had. That was the only thing that got me thru the death of my oldest daughter due to a drunk driver. I can't offer any suggestions other than that. But please know my heart goes out to you and yours, you will be in my prayers. (((hugs))) Remember the good times!
