Post Still Snoring - Any advice?
Hi I'm pretty new at this. I just got my CPAP last Thursday. I have a Resperonics C-Flex and am using a Resperonics Comfort Gel Mask. My pressure is 11. I have been managing to to wear the mask all night without too much trouble and am beginning to feel a little better. However my wife tells me I am still snoring. She says it's not nearly as bad as before, but I thought I wasn't suppoosed to snore at all with the  CPAP. Should I be calling the clinic, or is this common ?   Thanks for the help

 Brian

Hi Brian,

You are not supposed to snore while using CPAP.  If you still do, then you should consult with your doctor.  I did find I snored a little with a full face mask and when I switched to a nasal mask the problem disappeared.  I know my DME said if I was snoring then the pressure wasn't clearing my obstruction and my pressure would need to be increased.

Please don't wait and see, call your doctor today.

Thanks Melinda,
I called the sleep clinic and they advised me to try a pressure of 12. The therapist walked me through the process of changing the pressure over the phone. We'll see how it goes. I've had 1 really good night's sleep since I got my CPAP and I felt better the next day than I've felt in years. Lookin' forward to lot's more days like that.

Hi Brian,

It sure is wonderful to hear how you are having some success and feeling so much better.
Let us know how things proceed, if the increased pressure helps.

Oh, and you might consider registering as a guest.  It's not necessary, and you can always post as a guest like you've done.
But there are a few handy features available to you if you register.  It's free, easy and safe.
But even if you don't, I hope you will keep us posted on how things go for you.  Good luck, kiddo!

Linda
