Hi,
I'm wondering if you guys think its ok to start auto cpap with settings of 5 & 15, full-face mask based on dr. consult and sleep study of feb 2008? I will take my 24 yr old son (non-verbal, sev. phys disabilities) to be fit for a mask next week and he is too try it at home for a week.
The goal is to see if it helps relieve his daytime fatigue which dr is beginning to wonder if its due to upper airway restrictiion syndrome.
HIs feb sleep study concluded no apnea; however he did have 5 episodes during REM (and his REM was a very short period---only 7% of sleep time). I continue to witness what I feel is central apnea though, and doc now thinks maybe its' upper airway restriction syndrome.
does an auto cpap mean it will vary between those 2 pressures, or will it make adjustments on its own anywhere between 5-15?
just curious re: your guys feedback.
thanks
