Does pressure affect mask fit?

Post Does pressure affect mask fit?
I have a Fisher Paykel 431 and had not had any trouble with leaks to speak of.  My CPAP pressure is 10.  On July 1, I went for CPAP titration and they increased my pressure and put me on Bi-level pressure of 17/12 (I haven't got my new machine yet).  I started the night with my mask, but as they increased the pressure I started having leak issues.  They tried 3 different nasal masks (one that I really liked, but the tech switched it the minute it started leaking) and ended the night with my mask.  Now my mask that fit so well, seems like it leaks every time I move.  Could the higher titration pressures have caused it to become more loose fitting?  I tried tightening up the straps, but that gets uncomfortable.  Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, husker5775, You increase the pressure, you are going to increase the chances of the mask leaking. You may have to tighten the straps, you may even find you may need to get a different mask. Your pressures have had an substantial increase going fro a 10 to 17. It can be challenge for you but nothing that you won't be able to handle. It just might take a little time and persistence, and allot of experimenting till you get the leaks to stop. I am sorry to say there is no magic fix, for everyone is different. But try not to get discouraged I am sure you will find the right combination to get the leaks to stop, even if you have use a different type of mask. You might want to check with your  DME, I know mine has a 14 day loaner policy, that you can try a mask up to 14 days, and then return it, and try another, it is a great policy, and gives you the chance to find a mask that will work for you! Good Luck to You!

some masks can be resized by heating and pressing against your face to get a better fit, if the mask has headgear with straps, careful adjustment is needed, best done when lying down in bed
