Post swallowing air
I've finally adjusted to my CPAP machine.  Now, I seem to be swallowing air during the night.  Every morning I wake up to a belly full of air.  I'm tired of spending the first hour of every day belching, etc.  Any suggestions?????

I'm pretty new myself, but had the same problem in the beginning.  It's usually related to your mouth opening while you're sleeping and air getting in.  Are you using a nasal mask?  Some people use a chinstrap - that didn't work for me as I still managed to get air through my lips.  Many tape their mouths - I did that as well until last night when I used a Full Face mask for the first time.  If you do use tape, be sure to fold over the ends so you have a quick pull tab, in case you need to cough or something.

If you're a "serious" mouth breather, you may want to check into a full face mask.  There are many different kinds - I ended up with an Ultra Mirage - working on all the kinks to get adjusted properly for comfort and leaks, but I think I'm going to like it.  I also like my Breeze nasal pillows, but can't keep my mouth shut without intervention Crying or Very sad   My husband really liked the taping, though Laughing

Hang in there - I'm sure if you post more info on your mask and sleeping habits, some of the more veteran folks can help you!

Karen - finally sleeping through the night  Very Happy
