Post MMA before and after
I will be going in for MMA (not sure the tech. name but having upper and lower adv as well as having upp) at the end of the month and wanted to post the results for anyone that is interested.  I have tried CPAP and several different mask's and none seem to work or at the very least I end up pulling them off in middle of the night without realizing it.  As of now I am so tired I no longer drive, have to sleep in another room because of snoring and constantly wake up gasping for breath.  I have had 3 sleep studies done all with the same result... BAD!  I have actually pushed for the surgery due to my job (USAF) and all the problems I am having with my masks, I have to say I am looking forward to the surgery but not the recovery.  I will be posting on a weekly basis before and after surgery with the outcome, problems and questions I have had and will have before/after the procedure.  If anyone is intrested jsut post and let me know and I will keep going.  Shocked

Hi Scot,

You may have already been to the link below, but if not, the posts about MMA recovery by billinseattle are excellent.  He's had about every kind of surgery there is, including a successful MMA.   As best I recall I don't think billinseattle would recommend UPPP, though.  Do read his posts...the man has done his research,  is very knowledgable and articulate.

When you go to the linked page, scroll down to the bottom of the page for the MMA discussion topics.  I believe billinseattle posted his email address at least once in some of those discussions.  You might want to get in touch with him, if you can.

Hope all goes well for you and you have a smooth recovery.  Thank you for your service to the country.

Thanks!  I will try out the link, The reason I am having the other less successful (50%) surgery in combination with the upper and lower adv is I need to get down to less than 7 episodes an hour to be cleared for duty (deployment)!

"Thank you for your service to the country.", THANK YOU for your support!!
