Post new travel cpap machine - not enough air
I have been using a cpap machine for about 6 years with no problems!  That machine is set to a setting of 7.  Because I was anticipating a lot of travel, I purchased a small travel cpap and provided the original prescription. The machine, a Probasics ZZZPap, was set to 7.

When it arrived, I wanted to test it out. Imagine my surprise when I realized that the amount of air flow from this machine was drastically less than my other cpap.  I cannot figure this out.  I probably had the machine on for 1 minute, but there was no way I could use it.

When I contacted the company from whom I purchased the device, they said that I could send it back, but that they would not give me a credit because the device was used.

Before I go through the hassle of returning this machine, can anyone enlighten me as to why this new machine set at 7 would produce less air flow?

I really need a small machine for travel and now I am very disheartened.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I can not give you any thing technical but from experience...I went from CPAP to Bi Level and found that the pressure *seems* much less....but it is not.   I beleive the pressure is the pressure.  if they are approved by the FDA to sell it then either it is blowing the 7cms or something is wrong with the machine.  I beleive you can take it to your DME or a sleep lab and they can test the pressure for you...or another member here can tell you how to check it.  I have heard of the ZZZPAP's...was curious about it.  Another thought that i just had...is it battery operated?  If so, is the battery low?

From a SouthFloridian now a Northwest Floridian....hightailed it out of the concrete jungle Smile
