Post Mouth breathing during sleep study?
Related to my other question/rant(http://www.apneasupport.org/viewtopic.php?t=16151), I was wondering what happens if you mouth breath during a sleep study. Could it possibly show up as an obstruction since the pressure through the nose drops, but without the other signs of sleep apnea(no noises, blood oxygen stays normal), etc?

Thanks,
Michael

Nope.  My sleep study had some wire sensors in my nose and there was a small wire that was bent downward over my mouth to detect airflow there too.  They had it covered...

I'd say if you have more questions you should call the sleep study place and ask if you could talk to a sleep tech.  Mine was very helpful.

I only had a tube with openings for both nostrils; nothing that measured anything from the mouth. The sleep lab technicians were extremely helpful before and during the study, but afterwards said I had to talk to a doctor to discuss any results.
