Just went to a new sleep doc, who finally listened to me!
I've got mild OSA, at 10.3/RDI/hour. I'm on CPAP, but it's not working for me. I've tried the nasal pillows and the face mask, but my lower jaw moves a lot so they aren't working.
Anyway, new doc suggested TAP device. He said I don't fit the SA profile, not overweight, don't snore, no deviated septum, lungs are fine, throat is fine, no tonsils -- the only thing he said is obviously abnormal is my overbite.
I've got an appointment at my dentist tomorrow, but I'm wondering if there are other (read: CHEAPER) options than the TAP that I could start out with, just to see if there's a difference?
I also just got a blood test for narcolepsy today, but results can take a while (plus I don't have the cataplexy stuff happening, and my unprofessional opinion doesn't think I have that). I just really feel like there is a physical problem with my jaw area in correlation to my breathing.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
