Post Noise from CPAP machine
I have been using the Fischer/Paykel HC221 for about 4 years. The noise has always bothered my wife. Is anyone aware of a newer quiter machine or a secret to reduce the noise?

Thanks!

Hi,

Normally the machines don't make a lot of noise. Usually 28/32 decibels, as against snoring of up to 130 decibels. The noise may be coming from your mask. Has it been changed regularly ? Any grit or moisture at the exhaust ports ? or noise can come from holes in the hose.

Thanks for the reply. I agree it's better than the snoring but the concern is the machine noise I was hoping the newer machines might make even less noise. I even use a ten foot hose to keep the machine as far away as possible but it still bothers her

Hi Hotel,

Try sticking it in a cooler that is open a little so it can still suck air in.  You should have a cooler around if you spend your life in... hotels  Very Happy
