Hi everyone,
I posted about 6 weeks ago when I had a sleep study done and i didn't fall alseep. I went again 2 weeks ago and fell asleep for just over 4 hrs. My doc called me yesterday and was giving me all this info that meant nothing to me. He said that in the total time I was alseep I woke up 27 times and something about 6 events each hour which is low. He believed that I was waking because of my breathing (said something about oxygen level being 90%). No twitching, snoring or anything else. He concluded in saying that I may have mild sleep apnea and he would like me to try the CPAP machine. He said that this is the first thing we will try. What other things there are I don't know. I asked him if it will be covered by the insurance company and he said they may try and argue it because my sleep apnea is so mild. He siad the 1st 2 weeks will be free to try the mask then they have high confidence that it will work and that most people buy it. He also said that I was worse on my back than on my side. I just tried to call the office to see if I can get a copy of the results mailed to me. So, I am happy that something has been diagnosed but I am very nervous about getting the mask because my doc sounded slightly negative about it (it's hard to get used to, I might only end up wearing it a few hrs a night, I might pull it off). So someone is going to call me to set up an app. to get one fitted and for the 1st week I am to continue with the Lunesta, then stop it the 2nd week and call the doc back to see how everything goes. I just wanted to thank everyone for your support on here. I feel happier now but skeptical about the mask idea.
Wendy
