Post Questions on Central Apnea
My husband has recently been diagnosed with Central Apnea - he had some of the common symptoms (snoring, falling asleep at inappropriate times and irritability).  He also had periods of what I call "drunkeness", he appeared to be highly intoxicated yet he had just woken up, had only been up for a few minutes or was extremely tired.  Has anyone else out there seen this in a sleep apnea patient?  Could he possibly have something else going on that the apnea is masking?

Hi Moesy,

Did he have a sleep study done?  Did they record any of this?  I am unfamiliar with what you describe and obstructive sleep apnea.  And, I don't know much about central apnea.  I'd put a call in to his physician and ask them your questions.

Vicki
