Waking up feeling as though you can't catch your breath
Hi, I read your message and thought I'd try to help. I have had sleep apnea for years and I've encountered MANY problems over the years and some of them I've figured out, simply by trial and error. To this day, I will wake up feeling the same way on occasion and I have figured out that on some nights, the air goes into my nose and straight out my mouth. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that your mouth remain closed at night. Otherwise, the CPAP is useless. Call your medical supply company and ask them if you can order a chin strap (A COMFORTABLE ONE). If you need a prescription for that, then get one from your doctor and have them fax it to the medical supply place so you can get one asap. In other words, you may need to wear more "gear" at night but if it keeps you from losing air out your mouth, then do it. I hope this helps.
