I was recently chasing information via google and ran across a web site discussing the criteria for determining if CPAP was needed. Right now, medicare for one uses the AHI, but this discussion centered around finding another and better indicator for needing CPAP. One of the parameters examined was blood pressure (BP). They seemed to find that while the CPAP did not actually reduce the BP it kept it from increasing, that is it seemed to keep it at it's lowest level.
Assuming this to be true, which I really don't know because I'm really so new, it would seem that your increase in BP was/is from other factors.
As I suffer from high BP, hopefully some one on this site knows more about it and can elighten us both.
