Post Type 2 Diabetic
I have read studies that  CPAP use can help lower blood sugar readings. I am starting on my CPAP on Monday night and would like to know, seeing I am also Type 2 diabetic. Has anyone noticed an improvement in their blood sugars Question

The first column contains the last 40 readings in “reading†descending sequence.  The column on the left goes back to August 18, 2005, which is my first day on CPAP.  The column on the right is the same except it starts the day before CPAP, August 17, 2005 and goes back 40 readings.  The average prior CPAP is 123 while the average after CPAP is 125.  The present 14-day average and the present 30-day average are equal at 129.

Forgot to mention medication. Actos 30 mg, Glipizide ER 20 mg(2X10), Insulin, Lantus 52 units.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are workout days for me so I eliminate the ACTOS and GLIPIZIDE. I was going hypo so decided to cut back medication and beef up breakfast on exercise days.  The changes have occurred after the 18th of August.  I’ve not yet reached stability due to self-ordered changes in medication frequency.  There were a couple of exercise days in there where I reduced the insulin to 40 (20% reduction) units.  I hate it and I panic if I go hypo.

I appreciate the link!

My father and Grandfather both have diabetes.  In the years before being diagnosed with OSA i had extremely high cholestrol and was on zocor.  every three months i had blood work done prior to perscription being refilled and my glucose was always within a point or two of being considered high...even after 12 to 14 hours of total fasting.  looks like i need to get this check out next.

Thanks!
