Humidifier not working

Postby Steve_N » Mon Jul 09, 2012 12:43 am

The humidifier on my respironics RemStar Pro M series Cpap stopped working. Can I continue to use my Cpap with out the Humidifier working? I just started a new job & my Medical Ins. wont cover my OSA till Feb 2013 cause its a per-existing condition.

Thanks

unhook and unplug everything. wait awhile just like rebooting a modem or cable box, put it back together and see what you've got. if it still isn't working. remove the cpap from the humidifier and use it separately. i hope you kept the little plastic adapter for the hose. you should be able to buy the heater or little adapter pretty cheap on line.

Hi Steve

I also had a M series machine and the humidifier quit working one day. I was told there was a recall with that humidifier. My DME replaced my machine with a System One Machine. Without knowing where you got your machine I don't know your options, you could call Respironics. To answer your question, Yes you can use it without the humidifier with the adapter. If you do not have the adapter I don't think using the machine with the humidifier in the off position would change your therapy. This is just my opinion.
