I more than welcome any other solutions for my sleep apnea problem other than
a cpap device. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I have considered accupuncture and also surgery for my problem. I have been on a Cpap machine with nasal pillows for about three months, may I say unsuccessfully. Guess I am trying to find a quick fix for the problem. Thank you.
Hi,
There is no quick fix.
Surgical options have very limited success, depending of course on the severity of your apnoea. One surgical option, a tracheotomy, has almost a 100% success rate as it allows a bypass of the airway.
Hypnosis. accupuncture, buteyko breathing, snake oil etc don't work either, based on a lack of peer reviewed studies over a 3/5 year period.
If you are having problems with cpap, post details here and I am certain that you will get good advice from numerous contributors. I doubt there is anyone with OSA who has not had problems with cpap, but it is the gold standard treatment and is worth a big effort to become compliant.
