Distilled water... In or out of the fridge??

Post Distilled water... In or out of the fridge??
I have a gallon jug of distilled water to use with my passover humidifier which I keep on the bureau in my bedroom.  Someone told me that he keeps his refrigerated to avoid anything from possibly "growing" in there.  Is this a valid concern??  I generally breathe about a gallon or slightly more per month so the jug may sit for 3 - 3.5 weeks at room temperature.

I would think that refrigerating it would cause breathing discomfort when refilling and using the humidifier in a short period of time...

What do you think?

The water will be fine at room temperature

idzeeboo, I've used distilled water in gallon containers stored at room temperature for two years with no problems whatsoever.  I do, however, keep it in the bedroom closet where it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

idzeeboo...I was told that once opened,  I could leave the distilled water at room temperature for about 1 month...and I always go through the bottle of it before the month is done.
