Post CPAP usage problems
I have been unsing my cpap machine for quite a while and I am having issues with air building up in my stomach.  It becomes very uncomfortable and wakes me up.  I have a hard time getting the air to go away.  has anyone had this problem.

Tim

Tim, although I don't have your problem, I do recall seeing something on this forum.  I seem to remember it had something to do with the fact that the tongue was not sitting back far enough to keep the air pressure from entering the throat and stomach.

Perhaps a search of the forum will provide some answers for you.

Good luck,
Amigo

Tim,
Generally we are titrated for the pressure required on our backs, but if like me you are a tummy or side sleeper, your doctor MIGHT be comfortable lowering your pressure by one or two points. It is worth discussing with him/her.
I have read some people also get a little relief from slighty elevating the head of their bed.
I had this problem when first starting cpap, but upon retitration, they lowered my pressure and it wasn't a problem anymore.
