Post xPAP Wish List: Features missing from xPAP machines
Things that aren't on my CPAP, but should be.  Feel free to add to the list!

Clock radio & bedside lamp (less junk on the nightstand that way).

Noise-cancelling headphones (for your spouse; reduces complaints about whistling noises and mask farts)

Turn on and off using "The Clapper"

Coffee pot on a timer, designed to release coffee aroma into CPAP tubing

Full-face mask w/ built-in bullhorn.  Now you can say "good night" to your spouse without having to shout upwind through a hose.

Full-face mask w/cough relief valve (eliminates most common cause of mask farts!)

Alarm clock that wakes you up with a sudden burst of air at twice your normal pressure.  Optional whistle in case the mask fart doesn't wake you up.

Adapters for inflating basketballs, air mattresses and bicycle tires.

Hey, that bullhorn idea is pretty good.  It would be great if I had a mike in the mask so that I could press a button and talk to my wife.  Currently I have to scream at the top of my lungs and she still says, "What?"

Great ideas! I would like:

Bubble blowing attachment or snap-on kazoo to help liven up parties.

Headgear with built in curlers so I don't wake up with killer bed head.

Aerator for humidifier that simulates the sounds of a gentle rain or the ocean to help get to sleep faster.

Instead of glowing LCD panel, a light that projects the nighttime sky on the ceiling.

Hmmmm... I would like:
  • A place to hold a beer with a straw.
  • Electrodes that attach to my brain and make me smarter.
  • A contraption that pets the cat so she doesn't wake me up.
  • An automatic response that says, "Yes dear" to my wife.
  • Something that automatically scratches my nose when it itches.

Post I wish I'd thought of the nose-scratching attachment!
Hey, the aerated humidifier makes sense too.  Would probably make the humidifier work better without heat.  Let's go one better:  Built-in aquarium (also very soothing)

Smile

Okay, I've got a few more:

Mask exhaust that exits out the top of your head instead of hitting your spouse between the eyes (how many times have we all been asked to roll over?).  You could also aim it to keep the cat from sitting on top of your head

Air-tight, retractable drinking straw for full face mask--I've seen military gas masks with this feature

Custom design services:  I'm thinking a metalflake flame paint job on the mask and CPAP, with a braided-aluminum-clad hose with anodized fittings.   Oversized analog gauges on the CPAP lit in blue neon.  Biker-style meets cyberpunk.

Post Hmmmmmmmmm.......
How about a headband that says "MAVERICK"  (Top Gun) or "APPOLLO 9", so I would look like a fighter pilot or astronaut, instead a nerd with apnea.....   Wink

Or, dream inducing electronics that you could change like DVDs.....   Laughing

Or, a whole-house system (like vacuum cleaners) where you could hook up in any room (convienient for naps).   d'oh!

Actually, I'm pretty happy with mine as it is.  Very Happy
