Sleep study chart: BPOS (body position)

Postby cowboy1964 » Sun Mar 04, 2007 7:41 pm

So my chart for body position (BPOS) has 5 categories listed: B S L R P

L R P are obvious (left, right, prone) but B and S I don't know. I would have guessed S was supine but my chart shows all my supine time on the B line. So if B means "back" what is S? I had no S time (or P time).

Not a big deal, just curious. That's pretty cool to see the positions for the whole night layed out like that. Especially with how it correlates to the sleep stages.

Hmm. My original guess was S was supine as well.

I checked and mine were Back, Prone, Left, Right, Up (all nicely spelled out)

As you said, B could be Back
S could be sitting up?

It sure would be nice if they didn't make the information on these reports so difficult to decipher.

I just counted and I only have 4 sides, unless you count standing up. So what's the 5th side?

My sleep study report lists only 4 positions: Supine, Prone, Left-side, right-side. So you may have to ask the lab that did your study.
