Post New to CPAP, are there side effects?
Just started using the Resmed S7 CPAP with humidaire2i and the full face mask, this morning was second morning after use and I woke up feeling woozy or kind of drunk, when fully mobile everything was fine, is this something to be expected or get used to? I'm very nervous, any advise would be awesome. Peg.

My own experience with CPAP (actually, a BIPAP) has been miserable. In the last 8 months, I've used it only three times, and that was at the beginning of this year, when I first got the machine. Aside from the usual claustrophobia problems, I've been unable to use the machine as it aggravates my sinuses to the point at which I have a chronic cough that lasts for days or even weeks, making it impossible to use the machine until this cough subsides. So, the gist of it is that I can't use it at all and I'm living untreated, which is not good because I'm a severe case who can't be benefitted by surgery (which would only make me a mild case) and I have high blood pressure, as well.

Post Woozy
Peg -

Your brain is finally getting the oxygen it needs! (It may not be used to it yet!)  That may be causing the woozy or drunk feeling.  If it persists more than a few days, I would tell my doc about it.

Guest -  Do you have a heated humidifier?  If not, getting one would help significantly with the sinus problems.  I know others will disagree with me, but I put a couple of drops of Vick's Vapo-Steam in my humidifier chamber each night.  It helps clear up my sinus problems!
