QUATTRO FX MASK

Postby mnjewel » Tue Feb 15, 2011 9:14 pm

Has anyone else used the RESMED Quattro FX mask? My DME said it is fairly new and I wAs just wondering how others felt about it. I had nasal pillows, but continued breathing through my mouth, so asked me to try this. It seems tight, but, I am still breathing through my mouth. Hopefully this will stop soon. I've been on the machine about 2 1/2 weeks now..and am feeling less tired. I was fighting with the nasal pillows during the night, so I was ok with trying the Quattro FX. I feel quite lucky with my DME, as he seems to have give me some great equipment so far.

Thanks for your help and support.

I just got an FX today, so I'll try it out and let you know. My RT also left on of those gel pad thingies, to help with the small annoying leaks you get near the eyes. I had an old style of Quattro and hated it, since it tore up the bridge of my nose, but this one looks like it will work better.

I have had the Quattrro FX mask for about a month now.

It is the best fitting mask I have ever owned. I have had no leaks what so ever.

It is a very comfortable mask to wear.

The headgear is near perfect, and easy to adjust. :-D

I did the "swing" thing on the adjustment of the straps and I have to say, I slept probably the best I have in the last 2 weeks. The straps are very comfortable and being a side sleeper, the mask, straps or anything gets in the way. Wahooo!

And, my AHI was at 3 this AM..probably the best I've had yet.
I have to say, I am amazed at the amount of water that humidifier puts out. Mine uses about 1/2 - 3/4 of a cup a night. I guess that's good. ??

Thanks to all.. this site has been a God-send to me. I knew very little about OSA, and I've learned more here than from the medical profession.

Thanks to all.

Hmm - I must be doing something wrong. I used the FX one night and it leaked all night, waking me up several times with leaks and/or "face toots". Last night I played with it for an hour and a half before giving up and getting out my trusty FitLife. Guess I'll have to keep working with it. I really like how lightweight and unobtrusive it is, and was hoping it could be my hot-weather mask.

I went out to the ResMed site and looked at the guide to fitting. It did work for me. I was trying to put it too far up on my nose. I am really happy with it so far. I can even sleep on my side. Keep at it, I'm sure you can get it to work. I also toyed with it being not so tight on my face...it seemed to work ok. Once the air kicks in, it sort of creates the suction.

Thanks for this post. My DME recommended this mask for me. Said he's had no complaints and they are on back order! I'll update here once I get mine and able to try it out. (hopefully end of next week...)
