pictures of dental devices?

Postby Nancy1 » Fri Jan 01, 2010 12:03 am

I have UARS. I could not tolerate cpap and so my (regular) dentist fitted me with a jaw-advancement device. However, my teeth make themselves crooked to pull out of it so jaw regularly falls out of it (waking me up). Also I've given myself tmj as I clench like crazy to make my teeth fit into it. This has got to stop because I think I'm giving myself some ear problems (tinnitus, congestion) with the tmj! And therefore I am getting myself further and further from the possibility of getting myself on cpap (equalizing the pressure of cpap hurts that same ear....).

So I'm thinking of some other jaw-advancement devices. It seems like they're all bad on the jaw and teeth, though.

I searched around on the Internet but I'm not really finding pictures of or explanations of devices--does anyone have a recommended url?

When my dental device was working it was really nice to be able to breathe at night but I may just give up....sigh....I really really hate waking up every hour or so. And of course those are just the arousals I know about, not the ones I don't know about...

If you don't mind, I am just hopping on board.

I also want to consider these devices as I am having a hard time tolerating the CPAP. I believe I also have UARS. But in the threads I've looked at, it is like a foreign language with all the different brands, etc! I would like to learn too.
