Post Good titration study experience - yay!
I went in last night for my titration study.  It had been scheduled another week and a half out, but they'd put me on the cancellation list and someone cancelled.  Good for me, the other person coming in also didn't show up, so no additional noise from the door opening to the room next to mine.  Just me and the one tech.

This lab doesn't use nasal pillows for titration, but I don't think I'd be a good candidate anyway.  May try later with the DME.

We tried a nasal mask and it just felt like too much effort to breathe out.  So we switched to a Quattro and much to my pleasant surprise it was not hard at all to wear it.  (I have to think my scuba diving experience really helped - dealing with something on my face and breathing in a different way.)

At the lab's request after my pitiful amount of sleep during my initial study, I had Ambien on board.  I was a little leery because I tend to have weird behavior in my sleep.  But it was actually pleasant.  Although I thought I was asleep for a while then woke up to go the bathroom, and the tech said no, I hadn't gone to sleep yet.

Had some issues with leaks at first but they were easily resolved (again a pleasant surprise).  I have fairly soft, stretchy skin due to a connective tissue trait and I guess that was to my advantage for a change!

The tech was able to increase my pressure remotely, and I don't think any of those increases woke me up.  But she did come on the intercom a few times and ask me to sleep on my side, which is how I usually fall asleep anyway.  I brought my memory foam pillow and it worked great with the mask.

We went over the data when things were done and she was able to eliminate the hypo/apneas around 11 on my side, and I slept great until I rolled onto my back.  She then bumped the pressure and I needed 13 on my back.  So we're not sure where the sleep doc is going to recommend I start.

I didn't wake up feeling like the best night of sleep ever, but I did feel pretty energetic for such an abnormal night's sleep.  I did go back to sleep at home (with my oxygen) and now I feel like I have an Ambien hangover.  But overall I feel really pleased with the experience.
