Who thinks what?

I like Obama and if he makes happen what he says he is going to make happen, he will be wonderful for the States. However McCain will be better for the economy here in Alberta as he is in the pocket of Big Oil, and Oil is what powers our economy.

In either case I truly hope your next President will not be the absolute disaster that Bush has been.  Too bad Diebold and a few stooges stole the election from Gore, could you imagine where the states would be now? Wow, your supreme court sure changed history.

I'm conservative, and I don't see much difference between the two. They both want to break the bank with bailouts. No offense to our neighbors to the north, but I'm of the belief that the only thing that is going to save our economy is to bring the jobs back here by repealing NAFTA!!! Make the huge corporations pay tariffs again and they'll BEG to move back here and employ Americans. JMO

BushBaby is going to end up going down in history as the absolute WORST President the USA has ever had. Of course, there will be those historians who will TRY to turn him into a hero as they've been trying to do w/ole TrickyDicky Nixon.

Our economy is in such a shambles, such a disasterous state, I'm not sure about recovery and IF recovery does occur it is going to be one long painful process. Especially w/the bail-outs BushBaby's government is pushing thru!!! They swore the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailouts would be the LAST bail out and w/in hours they propose to bail out AIG. WHO ends up footing the bail outs??? You and I, the little peons (read that pee-ons by the power glutted rich and greedy).

One per cent of this country leading the other 99% around w/a ring thru their nose.

We have not had a descent president to vote for in a very long time! I didn't like Bush and I didn't like Gore, and I don't like Obama, and I don't Like McCain. I don't like Biden, but I do like Palen. And although I don't like most of the stuff Bush has done, and I do mean most, but I do thank God every day that he was in office when 9/11 happened. I dread to think what it would of like with Gore in office! I think it was Clinton an Gores policies that got us to that point to begin with! Along with Bush seniors failure to finnish the job at hand when he was in office!
 CrohnieToo you have that right about the bail-outs where is the justice in that? Hasn't anyone heard of personal responsibility? Everyone should be responsible for their own actions, and if they mess up they should pay the price!  Instead you have Uncle Sam (which is all of us,) paying it!
MrsBaddawg  I think  you have it right about  get rid of NAFTA  and I also think we should  start securing our borders and enforcing the immigration policies already in existences!

You know, I thought at first that I like Palin too. I didn't & don't like her stand on abortion but I really was kind of impressed. And then ....

BEFORE the media and the Dems started picking on her I got a bit uneasy ... you don't rise as fast and get as far as Palin has already w/o being VERY politically savvy and pretty ruthless and power hungry.

There is NOTHING naive about this gal! She knows how to go after and get what she wants ... which wouldn't necessarily be all that bad - except I do NOT think the best interests of this country is high on her list of priorities. I get the DISTINCT impression her priorities are all for her own best personal interests long before the country's. And I'm finding more and more issues that she and I disagree on. The interveiw w/Charles Gibson was very revealing to me and I wasn't at all impressed w/her or her responses.

I don't know as I totally agree with you on that CrohnieToo, I think she got to where she's at because of the way she is, the politicians of both parties hate her up there in Alaska, but the people don't. I have lived in Alaska 2 years in Anchorage and  4 years in Fairbanks, the people up there are different, they are  fiercely independent and loyal to their state! They don't like corrupt politicians  and they don't like people in the lower 48 telling them what to do! And there is a great deal of the old frontier spirit up there! They really do think all of us down here are a bunch of wimps!
Anyway I have no faith in the new media, they have no creditability at all as far as I am concerned. They choose their candidate that they want and slant the news in favor of that person. That is why Hilary is not the Democratic candidate. She was the news media little darling for a long long time, then Obama came along and they dropped her like a hot potato!
 The major networks and their news media has way to much power and influence, we only see and hear  from them what they want us to, from and thru their broadcast. And for far too many people that is the only place they get their news and form their opinions from. Especially the older generation, and that is scary. Because their  vote  is based on that information!
I have seen no perfect candidate yet, personally I really wanted to see Condie Rice to run, and I have problems with her too!

I still like Palin, but maybe that's beacause I knew alot about her years ago. I totally agree about Condie Rice!! She would be probably the best Rupublican candidate they could serve up! It's actually too bad Obama won the Dems. I was actually thinking about crossing the fencce and voting DEm this time if it were Hilary. I mean let's face it, she's already had 8 years experience in the White House.   Plus, I saw her as the least of three evils when it was still McCain-Obama-Clinton. I may just vote for Bob Barr...

I liked Colin Powel, but he's too smart and too honest to get embroiled in politics again after the sh*tty deal he got from BushBaby, Cheney & Rummy. They did their d*mnedest to ruin his credibility and deliberately put him in untenable positions and fed him BS data and info w/the INTENT of ensuring he would NOT be a viable candidate.

I was favoring Hilary too. At least Bill seemed to understand a good economy and some fiscal responsiblity and my guess is that whilst she is her own woman she benefited from his time in office in learning and understanding what is needed to keep this country financially healthy and strong.

Yep, WhiteBeard, Palin saw to it that Alaska reaped the benefits - even at the expense of the rest of the country. That certainly ensured her popularity w/the Alaskan electorate.  I'm sorry but that woman is too politically savvy. (NOT a compliment by ANY stretch!).

Mitt Romney would have been a much better choice than McCain - which tells you something about the Republican party. At least he had SOME understand of the REAL issue facing this country - the economy destroyed by BushBaby et all and their unnecessary, instigated war in Iraq!!!!

Bob Barr wouldn't be a bad candidate, but unfortunately  voting for him  with our system the way it is, is just wasting your vote! Personally I am not a Hilary or a Bill Clinton fan, I don't think they care anything about our country, they care only about themselves! Granted she would be better that Obama, he is nothing but a socialist,  and if he gets in office with a liberal democrat senate and house majority, I honestly think he will destroy our country! We do not need bigger government take over everything! It use to be the conservative democrats had all the power and influence in the Democratic party, but they have all been driven out, and the liberal socialist have taken over. God forbid if they take over our country! I pray that it doesn't happen!

At Bill Clintons' victory party the first time, they played "I've got the Power". I think if Obama wins, they should play "Back in the USSR".   I agree with you, White Beard, if Obama wins, and the House and Senate stay Dem, we are all in trouble! I think it's hogwash for people to believe that the President is all-powerful, no matter what he/she wants to do it will be either accepted or overridden by Congress. Can you imagine what it would be like with a President AND Congress believing that the only way this country will be saved is to control everything? That's Putin's government, not ours! The last 2 years with a Dem-run Congress have driven me crazy! "Let's raise the minimum wage!" That would be ok if it didn't cause loss of jobs! Smaller companies, if they have to pay higher wages, can't afford as many workers. And larger companies, worried about their bottom line, won't keep as many workers. "Let's raise taxes on big corporations!" That goes right back to those companies not keeping as many workers. You're supposed to give incentives for those companies to HIRE, but Congress is giving incentives to downsize. "They're too big to fail! We have to bail them out!" If they're so big, then they should fail or float ON THEIR OWN! Why do we the taxpayers have to pay to keep huge corporations afloat?? I thought we're supposed to be taxing them, not paying them! All a contradiction. Oh wait, that's right. We're only supposed to tax big oil because they won't pay incentives to Congress. The issue of big oil is the most frustrating to me. They hauled them up for hearings about their profits. Do they do that to big tobacco? NO! And at least big oil uses the majority of their profits to build more rigs (pending Congressional approval to drill) and research into alternatives. What does big tobacco do with their profits? They pocket them!
Oh, I'd better stop this rant, I'm just so frustrated!!

It is funny that the media always talks about how low Bush's approval rating is, but they never tell you that since the Dems took over congress that both the House and Senate have much lower approval ratings than the President, and in fact they are or, just about the lowest that has ever been recorded. But you will never hear that from the major news media! And your right  MrsBaddawg the President gets blamed for everything but in reality he has very little power, he can't really do much of anything without the help and approval of the congress! And what have they done or accomplished??? Heck look what what the liberal Dems have done to Michigan and Illinois, darn near bankrupted both of them, and that is putting it nicely.

Maybe we would all be better off if that was all congress ever did, declare each month  for a different fruit or vegetable, and quit making and passing stupid legislation that does nothing but give the rest of us grief!

I gotta tell ya those evangelicals scare me a h*ll of a whole lot more than the Democrats!!!

This is/was a country founded on "regligious freedom" so spare me from the evangelicals and all organized religion! Have faith in God but leave organized religions out of it!! All they are is tax-free trouble-makers.

It seems we do best w/the President from one party and the Congress controlled by the other party. Then they are so busy fighting each other they don't "get much done" except the fighting. And the less government does the better off I usually am. Seems every time the government does me a favor I get "scr*wed".
