Need more info.  What was the AHI/RDI?  You mention 11.3 arousals/hour.  Were these due to just respiratory?  Or respiratory + legs + idiopathic?

The REM % is less than normal... otherwise your slow wave sleep % is fine (stage 3/4).

The report says my apnea and hypopnea index was 6.5 events/hour and there were no periodic limp movements found in the study.

An AHI of 5-15 is considered mild apnea, 15-30 moderate apnea and over 30 severe OSA. So, yeah, you have mild OSA and your sleep efficiency stinks.

I don't know if I would say it 'stinks' given that he's in a foreign environment, hooked up to a lot of monitoring equipment, and also has mild OSA.  It's lower than it should be, but then again, when people have over 93% sleep efficiency during a sleep study, that, too, is abnormal and can be a sign of chronic insufficient sleep (esp. when coupled with decreased SOL and subjective sleep/wake schedules).

So given the above, his SE nothing I'd get alarmed about.  It's something I'd mention, but wouldn't get hung up on, as there are many reasons to have a SE in that range given first night effect of PSG, etc.

But yes, you have mild OSA.

Thanks alot for the responses.  I just have 1 more question.  Does anyone know why my REM sleep % is so low?  It seems that I am only getting about 1/4 of what you should be getting.

Thank you
