Well, I don't know how well "demanding" will go over w/the sleep lab. But, yes, if you have good reason to believe that you aren't gonna be able to sleep for beans w/o the Lunesta - or Ambien - ask for permission to take one. Very few sleep labs have it on hand to provide it so best to ask your family doctor to script it or give you a sample. But it is important that the sleep lab know you will be taking it.
The only impact it should have on the sleep study is that you will, hopefully, go to sleep faster and sleep longer so they get a good bi-level titration.
