Post Lots of condensation in Mask and drip on nose
He there, I just switched from the Nasal Pillow to a Nose Mask and now I am experiencing lots of condensation (I have a Resmed Elite II with a built in humidifier).  I even feel water drickling down my nose if I wake up.

Anyone else experience such and it is normal?  It just feel sort of weird to feel a drop of water running down my nose with the mask on.

Thank you,
Aarondawg

What setting for the humidifier are you using?  You might need to turn it down.  I have had it happen.  Some nights there is more condensation in the mask and hose than others.

I have it on a setting 2 of 6.  I keep my home air at 75 degrees at night.

Sounds like you have what's called rainout.  At such a low humidity setting, you may need to explore alternatives.  I've had excellent results with the FP Thermosmart for difficult rainout issues.  There is a heated coil within the tubing itself to prevent the rainout from occuring.

There are also coverings for the hose to help insulate it too.   I'd try the 1 setting and see what happens.

Have you tried placing your Elite and humidifer LOWER than the level of your mattress? Have you tried hanging your hose above the head of your bed so that any condensation runs back down the hose into the humidifier? Have you tried turning your humidifier off and letting it serve as a passover humidifier? And if none of the above help you can always take the Humidaire 3i off your Elite and running w/o any extra humidity at all. Some people don't need the xtra humidity, most do, but there are those who don't.

Thank you, I will lower the humidifier tonight.  The tech original set it on 3 to start.
