As much as I and allot of of other people complain of the cost of some things for CPAP and other medical supplies, those of us living in the United States are  indeed EXTREMELY  FORTUNATE! I thank God every day for just being here in the States!  Not only is  our medical care very very good, but also  our medical supply system, and availability of everything! Admittedly it might not be perfect, but I think  it is probably the best available  just about anywhere  else  in the world! I just hope that it will always remains that way!

Thanks everyone for educating me.  Believe me I am always very greatful to be able to live in the US.  My parents were immigrants and always instilled an appreciation for our rights and feedom.  I know how fortunate I am!  I was just amazed whne I saw the price and felt bad for the people that cannot afford the equipment. I just wrote how I felt at the time.

Grateful that is what is so great about this country we can voice our opinions, some might not agree with them, but that is Ok,  but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have them! Just remember you don't have to agree with theirs either! Don't let anybody kid you I still think there is some "Gouging" going on out there!

What will REALLY make you crazy is when you see that your DME charged your insurance seperatly for a Mask, Mask Seal and Headgear....even though they all come together as one in a single box.  

To me it is no different than if a Pharmacy charged your insurance seperatly for Cough Syrup.  And a Cough Syrup Bottle.  And a Cough Syrup Bottle Lid.   And a Cough Syrup Bottle Lid Seal.

They would probably charge separately for the syrup base, the cough suppressant drug, and the flavoring.  And then there is the compounding charge on top of the charge for the bottle and the cap (with an additional charge to get a non-childproof cap).

I got in a lot of trouble with my previous DME because I asked if they had made a mistake in billing because they had listed the head gear and the mask separately with separate charges.  Whew, they were steaming!  I was told, "The insurance company ALLOWS us to bill separately for the mask and head gear.  They hated me asking questions so I had to find another DME.  I burned my bridges though, and this is the only other one within driving distance that is in my insurance network. SO am trying not to say anything about anything!!!  Very difficult for me.
