Post RemStar --- their "Contact Us" web page doesn't wo
Maybe the folks at Resperonics (makers of RemStar) already know there is a problem...or maybe they don't care.  It seems that when you try to leave a message on their "contact us" page you get an error.  This is looking like a far larger problem than we may have originally considered.  How many other folks are under the false impression that their machines are working correctly when they are actually cutting out on them?

Toolkit...I think that is the old style.  That is exactly the same thing that was happening to me.  Replace the unit!  It would power off and then power back on as quick.  I thought in the beginning that mine was do to the auto off function...then I was able to enter the "secret" area and saw that this function was not engaged.  I live in Florida...known for severe storms and power outages...I checked all my electronics and the touchy ones did not power off...and also checked with neighbors...they were not aware of any power outages.  I also checked the plug/outlet...and all items on that line.

I believe the new design is as Frits described.  My new replacement is the still the old design...but it works...plus I am on a 10 month rental with my insurance...therefore if anything does happen...it is going back.

I woke during the night once and 'thought' it powered off...but was unsure if it was in my sleepy stuper that I imagined it.  Not until I layed in bed one night, unable to fall asleep as quick as normal, did I realize...it is real!  Then I unplugged it from that outlet and took it to the living room...totally different circuit breaker...and same thing happened.

They re-did the design for a reason...multiple problems.  I first posted my problem in a thread on the help forum...that was already started by someone else (I hijacked the thread)...then I started my own thread on how I had a hard time with the RT and how I handled it.  I had to fight the RT for this machine in the very beginning...after several conversations she realized that I am not a "dummy...and a strong advocate...and had more knowledge on SA than she did...by her own admission.
