Hi Sandy-Eyed,

I wouldn't wrap your CPAP in a blanket.  You might occlude the air intake and like any electrical appliance, you want to maintain air flow around it so that it doesn't overheat.  How is your humidifier working now?  Besides keeping the hose under the covers to keep the air inside warm, you can make a fleece hose cover or just buy cheap tube socks, cut the toes off and thread them on.  There is also a hose with an internal heating coil that can be bought online.  I know rainout wasn't your problem though.

Hi Eric,

You are doing fine with this web-site.  Don't ever worry, we are here to help, not criticize.  Who prescribed your CPAP for you?  You need to speak with them and tell them you are having trouble.  Like Dawg said, you need to be talking to a sleep speicalist, not your family doctor, family doctors are not trained in sleep medicine.  Also, post (as a new topic so your posts do not get lost in this one) why you are having trouble getting use to your CPAP and you will get a lot of helpful hints from us.  Keep posting!!

Vicki
