Post Help: Has anyone experienced this???
Hi all. I'll try to make this as brief as possible. I've haad 2 sleep studies done. First one without titration, second one with.

In a nutshell diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea. Got straight cpap with heated humidifier set at 6? doc said not enough pressure up it to eight.

Used the machine for about 2 months and still wake up tired. In fact I would wake up take off the maching and go back to sleep for a coulpe of hours.

So, doc had a 2 week auto titration done at home. Turns out the mean pressure was 9.7.

Ok now it's been 3 weeks like this and I AM STILL TIRED!!! The hometitration study showed an AHI no higher than 1.7.

When I looked at the report again today, the snore score is the highest at 9.7??? Lower at higher pressure.

Can anyone offer any advice? I am ready to give up on this whole thing.

THANX

Are you still taking the mask off part-way through the night?  How many hours are you sleeping per night with the CPAP machine on?

When I said I would take the mask off and go back to sleep> That's after sleeping straight through the night for about 8 hours with the mask on. Then going back to sleep cuz I am so tired.

I do the same.  I'm tired all the time.  After a certain amount of hours with the CPAP on (and I sleep well with it on), I take it off, get comfy in my pillow, and sleep another few hours.  Maybe it's not the best thing to do, but sometimes that air blowing constantly gets a bit old during the night.  Just my experience.

Taking the mask off is probably not a good idea.  I had obstructive sleep apnea and just could not get used to the mask.  My dentist discovered that my teeth were too small and tipped in so my tongue was flopping back into my throat when I slept.  After many months of orthodontic devices, he completely revamped my bite, brought my jaw forward, and incidentally, got rid of my TMJ.  This is an expensive way to go, but I no longer have sleep apnea.  I go to bed at nine and bounce out of bed at 5:00 am.
