Post New with CPAP, please help with RESULTS
I ended up coming home with Respironics' REMstar Auto w/CFLEX and using Comfort Gel mask (Respironics). I had it for Auto w/CFLEX mode so I'll be able to check what would be my readings after 7 days worth of use. Can anybody please tell me what would be my recommended CPAP pressure, meaning or explanation on EACH READINGS below. Thank you so much in advance.

Ave. 90% Pressure - 10.2           Highest in one night - 13
Ave. Pressure - 7.3                                                 -  8.6

Ave. Non-Responsive Apnea/Hypopnea Index - 0.0

Ave. Obstructive Apnea Index - 3.1

Ave. Hypopnea Index 3.7

Ave. AHI - 6.8

Ave. Flow Limitation Index - 1.0

Ave. Vibratory Snore Index - 12.5

Ave. Max Leak - 169.5
Ave. 90% Leak - 43
Ave. Leak - 29.2
Ave. Large leak - 2.0 mins

Thank you again in advance for your great help.

Al

Hi Al,

Are these numbers from your first use of the auto cpap?  I'm guessing yes.
I'm a little confused how it should have an average Obstructive Apnea Index of 3.1 and an average Hypopnea Index of 3.7 .... yet the average AHI (which is combined apnea and hypopnea index) be 6.8.  Wonder if you are dealing with centrals and it's counting that, don't know.  Normal is any index below 5.  But then it's only been one night, I guess.  I never understand leak rates, but maybe you're having some mask leaking issues?  That might also account for a slightly higher AHI, maybe.  I'm not quite sure what the pressures mean, but perhaps the 10 is your optimum pressure, although I don't understand what the average pressure of 7.3-8.6 means.  Perhaps others know.

HI of 3.7 and AI of 3.1 = and AHI of 6.8.

90% reported pressure is the pressure AT OR BELOW which you spent 90% of the night.

The same holds true for the reported leak rate; its the leak AT OR BELOW which you spent 90% of the night.
