prices vary widely. doctors can order a "split night" or "two night" study. In the split night, you are evaluated the first half of the night, and titrated for cpap the second half, if the first half indicates apnea. On a two night study, the entire first night is used for diagnosis, and the second, if indicated, for cpap titration. I would say the average per night cost would be in the 2,000 dollar range. If you insurance "contracts" rates, you may be given their "contracted" price, even though you haven't met your deductible. Many labs will also negotiate a reduced "cash rate" if you ask in advance.
the equipment also has a wide range of prices, depending on the type, brand and where it is purchased, just straight cpap can be bought for as little as 300.00, humidifier 200.00 and another 100.00-150.00 for a mask....autopaps are about double the price of a cpap....and bipaps are even more. You can google to see many online supplier prices, but expect to pay about double if you purchase form a local equipment supplier. Purchasing online, or out of network, may prevent it from applying toward your annual deductible on your insurance policy, so call your customer service number of your insurance company to find what expidentures they recongize.
