Question About Changing CPAP Pressure

Anyway they gave me a script for a CPAP set at 14 inch/h20 pressure.

I thought that since Canada went metric, that would be centimetres of h2o rather than inches of h2o.

Oops, must be my American upbringing creeping in there, I meant cm/H2O. Thank goodness I don't have to do the calculations from quarts/sec to L/min I'd have to go back to my old quantitative analysis texts.

Come to think of it, do y'all have to do the conversions from metric to Imperial to make sense of it?

For most people it could be measured in FKA (furlongs of Kool-Aid) or PSI -- it is just numbers.  I used to measure waveguide air pressure in inches of water, and I used a water filled manometer to do it.

BeardedOne

What is it that you didn't like about your APAP machine that you mainly use your CPAP?

1 FKA = 300 PSI = 21093 cmh2o

A furlong is one-eighth of a mile, 220 yards, 660 feet, 7920 inches, or 201.17 meters

As a measurement of pressure, a furlong of water would be about 285 PSI.  Kool Aid has a higher density than water, so a furlong of Kool Aid would be in the neighborhood of 300 PSI.

My autoPAPs (auto M w/ C-Flex and a 420E) are much noisier than my FP HC-233 or IntelliPAP.

OK, I'm impressed. I guess conversions are your thing.

Mrs Rip Van Winkle, I am afraid that is one conversion I cannot do.  I have been trying to convert 250# back to 200# for a long time.

Obesity is another of those medical conditions for which people have been looking for a cure.

Gotchya, ole BeardedOne. A furlong is one eighth of a mile. Now I know how long horses are racing when they cover a furlong!!!!

While CPAP has helped me with my energy a bit...  If I were a race horse, I don't think that I would be furlong... :)  I'd rather go to stud.
