Post Smartcard Reader Problem
A while ago I had successfully downloaded the software of the infineer smartcard reader.  Today I plug in the reader and nothing happens.  What else do I need to do to get this thing to work?  d'oh!

OK, I have tried to transfer data but now cannot get the current data to appear in the software.  I believe that the smartcard was positioned in the cpap correctly since my daily stat numbers were changing.  Or could it be that some info would be held by the machine without the smart card?  I know that my AHI is over 5 now and that there's a good chance that my leak rate is above normal.  What in the world could I be doing wrong????

What brand and model is your CPAP machine?

For a Respironics machine, I think it will still show summary data on its display without the smartcard, so that isn't a guarantee that the card is inserted correctly. On mine (M Series Auto), the machine beeps when the card is inserted, and an icon appears in the upper right corner of the display to indicate that the smartcard is present.

We have the same machine.  Yep, the machine beeps and shows the icon now.  It appears as though the card had not been properly inserted for quite some time.....I lost a whole month of data......Thanks for your help!

While we're talking about this machine...Does yours have a lighted display?  Mine does not and is very difficult to read without bright lighting.

No. They made the buttons nice and bright (which I like, since it makes it easy to find them in the dark), but no light on the display.

Yup no light display (I have M series auto as well).

Re: Losing a month's data.  If you want to capture all detail possible, read the Smartcard after every 7 sessions.  This would usually be 7 nights, but if there is a long break during the night or if you take naps with it, it will use up 7 sessions a lot sooner than 7 days.  7 sessions is the maximum full detail held by the card, after that the oldest drops off and the newest one is stored, only the averages are maintained.

Blessings,
