I wake up with stomach ache every morning

Postby kongone1 » Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:54 am

I wake up with stomach ache almost every morning
It is not gas
just a upset stomach
does anyone else experience that?
It also makes me feel depressed
and hard to get going in the morning

Most likely you are swallowing air (aerophagia). It could also be a weak "sphincter" (I forget the correct name, LES? lower esophageal sphincter??) indicating reflux or GERD.

It is something you should discuss w/your sleep doctor. Maybe even bring it to the attention of your local DME supplier's RT who may then contact your sleep doctor. You may just need some expiration pressure relief or a lower set pressure or even a switch to an autoPAP. Or you may need evaluation by a gastroenterologist for reflux or GERD.

You'd be surprised what a little bit of swallowed air can do w/o making you "gassy" - like cause nausea and the "queasies". Ha! Constipation can also cause nausea and the "queasies".

Sounds like GERD to me...or some acid reflux as Crohnie said....and yes...if you ae prone to constipation...that too will give that sick feeling.

Kongone...I suggest you keep a pen and paper near you and write down the stuff that happens, so you have it all there when you make a call or visit your Dr. Note when it started, how long it lasts and what relives it.....I go into my Dr with a typed out list of things......I keep one list for me and give him a copy....easier for me. I tell him that I am only doing this because it is more organized for me and I do not want to forget things. The I give him an opportunity to go over it and read it....I do not leave until everything is covered on that list.

Don't ever NOT want to get out of bed...getting out of bed in the morning is one thing that will make you feel better. Spring is here...the birds are starting to nest, the sun is now beginning to warm our shoulders...it is a miracle around us...and we are part of it all. The more we move our bodies the better we feel...

You may not feel a lot better right away on the CPAP...but the CPAP is helping you...so might as well join the rest of us in the world...get outside and take a breath of fresh air that you worked through the night with the mask to do.

C'Mon Kongone...don't make me come and get you! This is YOUR Mother speaking!

woo hoo ma
I don't feel it in my esophagus but in my stomach
I have been getting up and walking between an hour and 2 hours
I sure hope this weight comes off
but the pen and paper is a good idea
I called the dr. yesterday and he has never responded
to my request for plmd meds

Call again...shame on him!

Glad you are walking! Remember with food...you have to eat to keep your metabolizm going...small amounts several times a day is better than 2 or 3 meals. No clean plate club needed...when you are full STOP...You can always have more later. Always try to add one more step or movement each day. Guys tend to lose weight easier then women...ARRRGH!

I HATE lima beans......Hate Them *gag* Hate Them...about the only thing I don't like! Losing weight is not easy for anyone. Slow and steady is the way to do it IMHO. The xPAP should at least give you a little more energy.
