Post CPAP worked great for two months, now exhausted again HELP!
Hi,
I had spectacular results for the first two months of use there was a dramatic difference in my everyday energy and ability to stay awake.  Recently (with in 5-6 days) I have noticed being tired again, I started to pay super close attention to everything I was doing while awake and i haven't changed anything.  I'm afraid that my machine appears to be functioning exactly the same but just not having any effect.  I can't keep my eyes open falling asleep in the car and at work again.  Please tell me there is something missing that I can't figure out in order to be getting results again.

Desperately Tired
Amy

Your pressure needs might have changed for one reason or another.  Usually a loss or gain or weight, or  a med change.  Ask your doctor for an at-home titration.  You use an auto-pap for a period of time, which adjusts the pressure according to your needs, then the doctor downloads the information from the machine and goes from there.  I had similar problems , so I used an auto-pap for 2 weeks, and had my pressure lowered form 20 to 17 and now I am a happy papper again.  Good luck, Virginia

Good info, thanks!
The only major change I have had is I started swimming again while I have been using the CPAP (mostly because I actually had energy enough to stay awake from one side of the pool to another) so maybe I've lost some weight :) One can hope.  I aslo have an oppointment moved up to today so I can drop of my machine to see what's up.
Thanks Again

if you have a nose only mask you may have started breathing thru your mouth when asleep thus losing all CPAP benefits
